Introduction

Panasonic’s LED Lite is designed for laptop users looking for a bright idea. The LED Lite is equipped with three High Brightness LED lamps that evenly distribute light over an area. This helps to reduce eyestrain. The LED Lite attaches to your screen via a mounting clip that can swivel 360 degrees. This innovative design lets you control the direction of the light without having to move the actual clip.

Setup

Step one: Plug it in. Step two: See light. That’s all you need to do in order to setup the LED Lite. There are no drivers or software to install, the USB port provides all the power to illuminate the LED Lite.

Usability

The LED Lite provided more than enough light to read by. It didn’t matter whether I was in a dark lecture hall, or working in the library stacks. A nice feature about the LED Lite is its clip. The clip was perfect for getting just the right lighting. You can attach the Lite to your laptop screen, binder, pen cup, desk, or just about anything nearby.

The 3 LED lights provide a wide area of lighting. This eases the strain on your eyes while reading. While the three LEDs provide a lot of light, they don’t attract undue attention in meetings or bother people sitting near you. One word of caution; some people may ask to share your Lite with them, which is always a sign of a good product.

Battery Life

The LED Lite is only supposed to use about 2 minutes per hour of your laptop battery life. I found this to be close to my actual power drain. On average, you can expect to lose between 2 and 6 minutes of battery life per hour you have the LED Lite plugged in. The Lite doesn’t drain that much battery life and is definitely worth having around in dark situations.
